Tutors

  1. How is your software suitable for me or my institute?
    Tenpoint Academy provides you an easy way to track your students progress in learning, identify their weaknesses, and help them improve. You can view reports and charts to show how they are performing currently, and how that performance has improved from the past. This also helps you communicate to the parents of your students about their progress in a very detailed fashion without extra effort.
  2. How is Tenpoint Academy different from other software solutions?
    Our emphasis on measurable improvements helps you identify specific areas of improvements for your students, work on them, and track them, all with minimal manual effort.

  4. How secure is the data while using the software?
    Student data is stored on a secure server, with access protection. Only administrators, you and the students themselves or their parents can access student data.
  5. Can history or old data be saved for future reference?
    Yes, we maintain history to track student progress.
  6. Do we need training while using the software?
    We have found that students are able to use the software without training. However, a kickoff session can be conducted if needed.
  7. What kind of tests do you have?
    • We have three kinds - practice tests, diagnostic tests, and evaluative tests.

    • Practice tests are for students to check their own understanding of the subject, and improve. Results of these tests are visible only to students.

    • Diagnostic tests are tests that determine the depth and breadth of student understanding of various topics, and narrow down to specific subtopics that they have difficulty with.

    • Evaluative tests are meant to simulate a end-of-term or final test environment for students to gain confidence.

  8. What kind of questions do your tests support?
    We support Multiple Choice, Fill in the Blanks, Match The Following, and Multi-Step Questions. A single test can mix and match among the various types as required.
  9. How are tests created?
    • Our standard Learning Plans include tests for all chapters in the curriculum. If you wish to create more tests, it is a very quick and easy process.

    • You can select which topics the test should cover, select the kind of questions to include, the test type (practice, diagnostic, evaluative) and the number of questions to show.

  10. What is a Learning Plan?
    • A Learning Plan is a collection of revision material (textual and video), plus tests of various kinds. Each student is associated with one Learning Plan per subject, so that their progress can be tracked.

    • We provide standard Learning Plans for each class/subject/board combination. You can either use these directly, or create your own. To create your own learning plan, start with one of our standard Learning Plans, add or delete content, and add or delete tests as you wish.

  11. How do you control what questions a student sees?
    Our tests pick questions from a large database of questions that we have. Depending on which questions are answered correctly or not, our algorithm selects different questions for the student from the database. Thus, test experience for each student is automatically customized to that student's level of understanding.
  12. Do you prevent questions from being repeated?
    Yes, once a question has been answered correctly, similar questions are not shown to the student for a period of two weeks. Questions can be repeated later to test if the student has forgotten what she has learned.

    • There are help bubbles for each icon on the site. A technical FAQ is also available.

  14. Is Internet connection required?
    Yes.
  15. Which Operating System is required?
    All standard Operating Systems are supported. All you need is a Web Browser (preferably Google Chrome, which is freely available, but we support recent versions of popular browsers).
  16. What is the mode of payment?
    • After your trial period expires, we will send you an invoice with a link to pay online. If you wish to pay offline, you may pay by online transfer or cheque.

    • Once your payment is processed, we will enable your access for the period of payment.

  17. How much does it cost? Is there a discount facility for more students?
    Please contact us - we will work out pricing suitable to your needs.

Students

  1. Can I use Tenpoint Academy by myself?
    Yes. You can use it online on your tablet computer or PC. You can access it from anywhere.
  2. Do I need my tutor's help to use the site?
    • If you tutor uses Tenpoint Academy, you will be linked to them, so you will use the site in conjunction with them.

    • If you have signed up for an online account, you can use the site without your tutor's assistance.

  3. How secure are my results? Can anyone else see my reports?
    Only you and your parent can see your results, as well as your tutor (if they use Tenpoint Academy). Others cannot view your reports.
  4. How many times can I take a test?
    Any number of times as you may want to. We want you to take tests again and again so you can see your improvements for yourself.
  5. What kind of tests do you have?

    You will see how your historical perfomance has been, your performance by chapter, where you need improvements, and how you have improved on past areas of improvement.
  9. Can I change my password?
    Yes - click on the icon on the bottom left of your screen.

Parents

    An Android Tablet or a PC is required. Internet facility is required.
